Buffon's Macaw

The buffon macaw is know as a ara ambiguus, there are listed in the iucn which are red list threatened species as an endangered. They reach 33 to 36 inches in length and weighs up to 2.9 pounds. They are describe in the 1811, their are 2 subspecies which are

Ara ambiguus this is the nominate species. It is found in the northern regions, in the honduras through the columbia. The common names are Buffon's macaw, great green macaw and grand military macaw.

Ara ambiguus guayaquilensis the species are is found in the southern regions, ecuader and possibly southwestern columbia common names include Guayas great green macaw, guayaquil macaw and ecudorian buffon's macaw.

The buffons macaw are reserved natural disappeared completely from areas of human population. They live on high tree tops, forests in tropical and subtropical zones. The buffon's are lonely birds they tend to leave in groups. The buffon macaw has the same appearance as the military macaw, they are very slight size and color differences.
The buffon macaw is green with pale blue on lower back, the tail is pale brownish red, tipped with blue, the forehead is red, the bare facial is white with a pink cast, the legs are gray, the beak is gray, and the eye is dull yellow.
The buffon macaw eats seeds, nuts, fruits, berries and plants they like to eat with there family they love eating chicken, with protein in the wild. The large macaw require 2 1/2 to 3 feet , they also need 2-3 hours a day outside the cage. The macaws needs daily clean of water and food, in the wild they are seen in groups, up to a dozen, they are intelligent lovable and friendly, there are sometimes loud because of the interactions with one person. The buffons adapt quickly, once they accustomed to a new environment they tend to start training.
There is no difference between male and female because they are alike, they clutch egges 2 to 4 incubate in 26 days. The babies will leave there nest in 84 days.

military macaw

The military macaw are the most intelligent birds that are called by the biologists in the flying primates, the world specializes 8 large macaws. The genus species of the military macaw is ara militaris. The range of the military macaw is mexico to argentina. There natural habitat is dry forest and open woodland, in pairs of of small flocks up to 20 birds. The physical appearance is olive green with a red forehead. uppertail converts the rump blue, The cheeks of the small rows of violet brown feathers. Eyes yellow the beak dark gray, an the legs light gray. The female is slightly smaller, young resemble of their parents but they are duller with brownish tinge. The female lays 2-3 eggs, the incubation is 28 days. After 3 months they leave there eggs, and they are endangered species.




Blue throated macaw

The blue throated macaw is from the tropical savannahs and woodland of central bolivia. They depend on palm trees, Today their are less than 300 blue throated macaws. The blue throated macaws are mistaken for the blue and gold macaw. The size of the blue throated macaws are 34 inches, the weight of the blue throated macaw is 1.7   pounds. There diet is it includes seeds, fruits, nuts and berries. The incubation and the clutch size is the their incubation is 29 days and there clutch size is 2-3 eggs.The fledging duration is approximately 4 months with parents to a year. The lifespan is they will live up to more than 80 years. There habitat is swampy lowlands to savannah grasslands. The blue throated macaws are endangered species because there aren't that many left.

spix's macaw

The spix's macaw are one of worlds endangered species, they are representative genus cyanopsitta. The spix's macaw is 55 cm long, They weight is the male one are .39kg and the femmales are lighter .33kg. The spix's macaw are found in buriti palms of southern piaui and northern western bahia. The spix's macaw are usually found in the caraiba trees in which they depend on. The spix's macaw feeds on seeds and fruits with flavored cooked pasta fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, hot peppers and cooked beans. The young spix macaws of reproduction start in september at the age of 4. 
The loss of much caraiba woodland the impact of settlers moving through its habitat has caused the Spix's Macaw to be one of the most endangered birds today. The illegal trade of spix's macaw had effected the population. There are only one wild male and introduced female with 30 capacity.

Indigo Macaw

An indigo macaw is a from brazil a rare parrot, its a metalic blue with faint. It weighs at 2 pounds, with a 30 inches long.The indigo macaw is named after edward lear, the body, tail, and wings are dark blue with the head slightly paler shade. To the appearance of the indigo macaw is similar to the hyacinth and glaucous macaw. The indigo macaw eats nuts as the licuri palm, if the group of macaws are searching for food or nesting ground a small advance of males would scout out.  when danger is found on hunts for new territory the macaws call their signature call which can be heard for miles. The macaw reachs flight speeds of up to 35 miles per hour to escape predators or poachers. The indigo breeding reproduction of 1-2 eggs per year of mating seasons from december to may. The sexual maturity is at 2–4 years of age, the life span can be anywhere from 30–50 years or more.

Hyacinth macaw

The scientific name for the hyacinth macaw is the Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus, Its orgin is from south america. The hyacinth is 40 inches in length from the beak to the tip of the tail and weighs at 2-3 pounds. The hyacinth can live up to 60 years of lifespan, the hyacinth is known as gentle giants the Hyacinths are very affectionate birds by nature. They are easily trained and tend to bond strongly with their human caregivers. The hyacinth have 4 feet wingspan they must be given adequate time to exercise and room for a good stretch. It is a good idea to give a Hyacinth a minimum of 1-2 hours of time on a playgym or other safe area per day to maintain their muscles. Hyacinth's also need to chew to maintain their beak and jaws, so plenty of chewable toys are a must for these big beautiful birds. birds demand more time and attention than other species, Hyacinth Macaws are definitely not the right pets for just anybody. Large, beautiful, and intelligent, they can be quite alluring -- but resist the temptation to bring a Hyacinth home without thoroughly thinking it through! A Hyacinth Macaw's beak can snap metal, which means that they must be taught at an early age not to "mouth" their human caregivers -- no matter how gently. Thankfully, they are usually quite docile and easygoing, and seem to enjoy learning and human companionship. Another issue that arises from a Hyacinth's strong beak is that of adequate housing. Many Hyacinth owners have been surprised to find that their birds can reduce a regular cage to splinters! The best bet for a Hyacinth is a cage made of stainless steel.
These big birds need plenty of room to exercise and play, as well as plenty of supervision to make sure they do not get into anything dangerous. Do not buy a Hyacinth Macaw is you don't have time to spend with it -- but if time is not an issue, a Hyacinth can quickly become your best friend. Hyacinths have been called the most friendly of the Macaws, and in general, they do seem to take more of an interest in humans than certain other species. If you have the time, finances, and space to devote to a Hyacinth Macaw, you may just find that these bright blue beauties are the birds of your dreams. Hyacinth macaw is parrot native to central and eastern south america.The hyacinth is longer than any other species of the parrot. The hyacinth is the largest macaw and the biggest flying bird from kakapo of new zealand. Their strong beaks are even able to crack coconuts, the large brazil nut pods and macadamian nuts.Nesting takes place between July and December, nests are constructed in tree cavities or cliff faces depending on the habitat.

Glaucous Macaws

The glaucous macaw can go up to 70 centimeters. The Glaucous is a term for colouration, It had a large tail and a large bill. The colors of the Glaucous Macaw are yellow bare eye-ring and half-moon-shaped lappets bordering the mandible. The Glaucous Macaw is found in North argentina, south paraguay, North-east uruguay, and Brazil.There are only a few left of the glaucous, They are basically by major rivers.
